LIFE INSURANCE

"Life insurance isn't for the people who die. It's for the people who live."

Regardless of your family circumstances or your age, everybody should consider life insurance. Life insurance offers protection for your loved ones in the event of your death. Mourning the loss of a loved one is bad enough, without the added worry of financial problems to come. While life insurance will not make up for your loss, it will ease the burden placed on family and loved ones.

MEDICARE / INSURANCE FOR SENIORS

Medicare is the federal health insurance program that covers most people age 65 and older. Some younger people who are disabled or who have End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure) are also eligible for coverage. Medicare pays for much of a beneficiary’s health care, but not all of it, so seniors can purchase other insurance policies to cover part or all of Medicare's deductibles and coinsurance amounts, or to cover many types of care that it doesn't cover.

DISABILITY INSURANCE

Let's face it: Nobody likes to think about what life would look like should disability strike. But the reality is one third of all Americans between the ages 35 and 65 will become disabled for more than 90 days, according to the American Council of Life Insurers. One in seven workers will be disabled for more than five years. And consider this: the majority of long-term absences are actually due to illnesses, such as cancer and heart disease. The resulting loss of income can be so devastating that it forces some people to foreclose on their home or even declare bankruptcy.

Disability insurance replaces a portion of your income if you become disabled and are no longer able to work.
